SOUTHAMPTON SUMMER WEDDING (FEATURED ON VOGUE.COM)

One of my favorite watercolor suites from the summer was featured on Vogue.com this past week for Sophie Elgort and Eric Von Stroh's gorgeous Southampton wedding!  When designing Sophie's invitations we began with that bright, beautiful blue color inspired by a photo her father (photographer, Arthor Elgort) took of the sunset.  I drew the blue from the tones of the sky and also incorporated the local flowers they would be using; sunflowers, hydrangeas, and pink peonies.  All designing was originally done in watercolor.  We created a formal suite, escort cards with little envelopes, table numbers (that were names of special places), menus that double over as place cards, and welcome bags with an info card of the Elgort family's favorite southampton spots! I am still beyond excited to learn of the mention and read what Sophie had to say about all the details of her wedding.  In the article, you can read more about their sweet day at her family's home in Southampton.

HELLO SEPTEMBER + AUGUST ROUNDUP

I'm a little late on welcoming September this week (with open arms might I add).  I had a great summer that flew by so fast.  I've been so busy working on client and personal projects over the past couple months.  Above are some of my recent favorites!  I have a couple exciting collabs in the works and am working on some products for the holidays!  I know this fall is going to bring great things (and lots of pumpkin spice).  I'm looking forward to cooler temperatures but first taking this month to get organized before the craziness hits.  I always feel like once October comes it just flies by, as there is always so much to do over the holidays.  Trying to make my days last as long as possible and savor each month. I've been a little quite over here lately, but I always post some sneak peeks on Instagram (@shannonkirsten) in case you're interested in keeping up!

RECENT WORK : THE CUTEST COUPLE // ILLUSTRATED INVITES

I recently painted these guys for literally the cutest bride ever.  Mary has been so sweet to work with and I'm honored to be able to contribute a little bit of pretty to their upcoming wedding!  

I used gouache for all the color on these and the lettering was done in ink.

RECENT WORK : BEST PHOTOGRAPHY WATERCOLOR LOGO

A recent logo design project I created for Best Photography.  I have worked with them several times on styled shoots and just love their style and the new look on their site. The last two logos were other floral examples I created, the top one became the final.

RECENT WORK FEATURED ON 100 LAYER CAKE

I shared these invitations and signs awhile back but today I am thrilled to have them featured with an amazing group of vendors from Inez and Matthew's wedding.  Inez was the sweetest and of course it's always a pleasure to work with Sarah Tucker Events!

IN THE STUDIO // CALLIGRAPHY IN PROCESS

This is a little sneak peek of some projects to come.  I'm beyond excited to have my calligraphy and invitations in a styled shoot this weekend.  I will be dying to see and share photos! I'm also working on more calligraphy options and other holiday things to add to the shop soon.  I got these vintage stamps on Etsy recently.  One of my favorite things about putting an invitation suite together is picking little details like stamps and liner colors, they just add that much more to the design.

RECENT WORK

A few new projects from the past week or so.  The menu is up in my shop and available for customization.  I have added the two art prints as well!  The photo with the leaves were for a styled shoot that I'm so excited to see the results of, I was also involved in another one recently...I'm dying to see and share photos from both.  I've been doing calligraphy for dayz lately and it's great.  I love sitting away from my desk, turning up the music, and drinking my coconut iced chai's while I paint.
