A MUSIC FESTIVAL WEDDING IN THE REDWOODS

How fun is the inspiration behind this wedding suite?  I had a good time working with this music loving couple to incorporate some unique elements that would reflect their wedding weekend.  I loved the brides idea to make the envelope liner redwood trees! The floral colors on the suite were chosen to reflect gem stones, the colors the bridesmaids were wearing.  So much fun to create.

Bailey & John-Michaels beautiful wedding in Puerto Rico last fall.  I had so much fun working with Bailey to create all of the fun, vibrant stationery.  The ombre lettering was totally her idea and I LOVE how it turned out!

REAL WEDDINGS : HANNA & JACOB'S WOODLAND WEDDING | FEAT. ON STYLE ME PRETTY

OMG how beautiful is this wedding?! I don't always see wedding photos of the clients so when one gets featured / I get tagged on instagram it makes me so happy.  Hanna looked absolutely stunning on your wedding day.  I created the full wedding suite and menus using hand lettering with gouache.  I love how we switched it up on the menus to incorporate some of the fluffy wild flowers that were used in her bouquet.  Hop over to Style Me Pretty and drool over the rest of the photographs by Karen Hill Photography!

RECENT WORK: A CREST WITH MUTED FLORALS

Another pretty crest design with a muted color palette.  Loved the floral inspiration I received for this and the addition of the barn illustration (where this couple will get married) is the little cherry on top!

LATELY : STUDIO SNAPS

A few snaps of a project I worked on before I left for my trip.  These were for a photoshoot and I'm dying to see the photos!  The dusty blue and lavender combo has really been getting to me lately.  I'm obsessed. Can't wait to share more of this suite soon.

RECENT WORK : GARDEN PARTY INSPIRED

I loved creating this suite and pretty garden-y menu for a recent wedding.  We took inspiration from my 'Tuscan Inspired' suite that was featured on Ruffled Blog and Weddings Illustrated last year!  I used the leafy details in the corners while changing the floral colors, darkening the leaves, and thickening the letter style.  The darker hunter green color was mixed by using a few of my greens and I love how it turned out. The original designs were hand painted and lettered using gouache paint.

WEEKEND NOTES

Some favorite things that started coming together this past week / weekend.  

Excited to introduce some new simple calligraphy prints to the shop this week. I ordered some samples of recent client projects to shoot, lots of pretty greenery lately.  Spring has definitely arrived and influenced my mood, as I've been using these soft muted colors a lot and painting dainty florals. 

We had a weekend filled with family and good food, our nephew and my sister both had birthdays that were celebrated. We ate dinner at our favorite restaurants, did a bit of shopping, and somehow I managed to still paint in between.

RECENT WORK : RED & WHITE FARM INSPIRED

I loved revisiting this suite to customize it for a recent client.  Lately, I've been doing a lot of watercolor work on white paper but it's so fun to switch it up sometimes.  I love a good, bright background with white lettering!

HAPPY NEW YEAR : 2014 HIGHLIGHTS

Greetings from Ushuaia, Argentina! What a freaking year this has been! We are about to embark on our journey for Antarctica this afternoon after three long days of traveling through Argentina. We are beyond excited.  But first, I had to check in and say thank you for an amzing 2014.  Things have grown and changed so much this year.  I am beyond grateful for all of the support, kind words, brides I have woreked with, sales in my shop, blog / press features and all the other amazing projects I've been lucky enough to work on this year.  It's truly been amazing and I am so thankful.

The above photos are some of my highlights from 2014; some of the new products in my shop, my favorite wedding suites like the Palm Springs cactus collection, Sophie's watercolor invitations that were featured on Vogue, and the grey washed calligraphy suite that was sent off for a photo shoot in Mexico! I also had the honor of contributing to a Southern Weddings Magazine shoot, a Florida inspired shoot  shot by Best Photography and featured on Ruffled blog. Our Valentines shoot with Michelle March and Styled by Flutter Fete was featured on Style Me Pretty and pinned all around the web! I had the pleasure of being included in many other features and round ups this year which is always so exciting.  Among one of my most favoritte moments is the limited edition art I created for Buddy Editions, it was such an honor to be a chosen artist for Katie Armour's  newest venture! I already have some exiting projects in the works for 2015  but I can't even imagine what else it will bring.  So much has happened just in this year!

As I sit here in Argentina, wating to board a ship for Antarctica, I feel extremely grateful for how amazing 2014 has been, personally and business wise.  I can't wait to return to work after this adventure.  Wishing you all a veery happy new year! See you in 2015!!! xox
