HAPPY FRIDAY + SOME LINKS

Happy Friday my friends!
Hope your short week was great.  It's funny because I definitely enjoyed the extra day off this week but then fitting everything into a four days is just a little too much scrambling! I'm looking forward to a busy weekend ahead.  Most of my weekend will be spent organizing, doing some cleaning out, and getting my shop all restocked and in order for October approaching.  Once October hits theres noooo going back! It always seems like endless excitement, events, and orders as the holidays draw near.  I am so looking forward to this time of year.

As always a few favorites from the week:
*Just loving the colors and textures in this photo
*A beautiful bouquet to serve as painting inspiration!
*An inspiring, artful Wes Anderson inspired wedding
*These fringe boots are ridiculously cute and a good price
*This pleated jumper from UO, I love the look of long sleeves or a turtle neck under a cute dress for fall
*Another colorful, textural, inspiring pin
*The sperry duck boots are so comfortable (they were my life in Iceland) and I'm loving this new color!
*I started a new Vintage board on pinterest for all my random finds
*Society 6 is offering a free shipping promo right now, follow this link to receive the deal
*And in case you missed my post yesterday, I added six new prints to my shop and have some older designs on sale for only $10!

WEEKEND SCENES

I know, a couple days late on sharing some weekend scenes but these little snippets from the weekend made me happy so I decided to compile them anyways.

I've been working on some paintings for my shop (I've posted a few sneak peaks but have some new things as well).  I keep an ongoing list of quotes and words that inspire me, it was time to start lettering some new ones.  I may add a little design to some of these but I always love how simple the black and white look (especially when nicely framed)...

I've been really into painting floraly letters.  I'm excited to share what I have in store for these.  Although, since a few friends asked already I think I will offer a little alphabet poster similar to how the original looks below...

Friday night we went to see some favorite bands play in Tampa (Mickey Avalon, Pepper, Rebelution, and Sublime with Rome).  It was a blast! (instax photo by @influencegirl ).  Although rainy most of the day, it brought cooler weather for the evening outside // Saturday I made the rounds visiting some friends and doing a little shopping of course! I've been wearing my new converse a ton (from the kids section at Nordstrom Rack, ha!). I tried on some of Camilyn Beth's new fall pieces at her studio and fell in love with them all! // Sunday was back in the studio painting and planning shoots.  Little Twiggy always seems to find the best light as she perfectly places herself on my sketches by the window.

Hope you are having lovely week!

HAPPY FRIDAY + SOME LINKS

Hope you all had a wonderful week! I'm working hard to wrap up projects lately and add new work to my portfolio.  We are heading to Tampa tonight to see some of our favorite bands play with friends.  I'm looking forward to a fun evening and then catching up on more work the rest of the weekend.

And of course, some favorites from this week:

*Dying over this little Marc Jacobs backpack, the poppy red color is irresistible!
*Love this leather phone case (that you can get monogramed)
*I put some of my prints on sale in my shop (like the photo above), they will remain in the sale section until they sell out!
*Really fun illustrations by Cat Lee
*These gorgeous hand woven pillows, I love the color combinations
*Loving these retro style Karen Walker shades, again with these colors!
*This funky light caught my eye (for a side table perhaps?)
*Obsessed with this top, probably because it looks like something I would draw!

XOXO

WEEKEND SCENES

A few snaps from my weekend... Friday my friend Jess and I set out to do some just for fun styling and pictures using items from their vintage shop. I'm wearing vintage dress, Forever 21 kimono, and Asos sandals // This weather has been awfully rainy but has made for some interesting, dramatic photos at the beach // (below) cold brew from Buddy Brew in Sarasota might be my new favorite // Needing a refresh from traveling & going into the last half of 2015 (sad) so I've been updating and rearranging, starting with my studio // These painted signs were for a wedding I shot on Saturday in Ybor City "real" photos to come // I shot photos for friends blog yesterday. They plan to launch this week and I'm stoked to share more on that soon.

Hoping you have a productive Monday, all this rain is making me tired!

SNAPSHOTS FROM NEW YORK

Some snapshots from running around New York over 4th of July weekend (we left from here to go to Iceland).  It was a nice stop off to spend a few days in the city, relaxing and catching up with some of my favorite people.  My friends brought me to some new fabulous lunch and dinner spots and we also did the ferry to Liberty Island for the first time.  I've had friends in NY since I starting going so I usually skip anything too touristy.  This was neat to see, especially with giant pretzels in hand on the 4th of July (so American of us!).

Hop over to my photography blog if you would like to see the full shoot I did with Ashten on her rooftop and around Brooklyn.  New York I love you!

(ps. my next NYC travel date is the weekend of October 9th if anyone would like to book me)

WEEKEND NOTES : SNAPSHOTS FROM ORLANDO

A few snaps from this past weekend in Orlando.  We managed to fit a lot of things in and had so much fun exploring.

Friday we arrived and checked into our place, we ended up exchanging our time share which was super comfortable and quiet.  We were a little south, closer to Disney, so most of the things we did required a bit of drive time.  Although Orlando seems really spread out anyways!  We played tourist and walked around Downtown Disney our first night, dining at a lively cuban cafe for dinner.  Then we went to House of Blues where a Guns N' Roses tribute band was performing, it was definitely entertaining! Saturday was more a work day for me with the pop up shop at West Elm (photos to come).  After the event I had an evening engagement shoot at Kraft Azalea Park.  The park was beautiful, filled with huge Oak tress and hanging moss.  I was pleasantly surprised at the location, it was on a lake and the surrounding neighborhood had some serious houses.  We enjoyed driving through and looking at them.  That night we met my friend for dinner at Cask and Larder.  It seems to be a locals favorite.  The menu was super interesting with great cocktails.  I had an earl grey, sage vodka, and lemonade concoction, amazing!  Sunday was our free day so we got up early and head to Winter Park.  I've stayed on Park Ave before for work so I knew we would find a good brunch spot and other fun things to do.  After that, at the advice of my friend, we went to the East End Market which was awesome.  Lots of local makers and food in an indoor market, just super fun to see a community like that.  I of course couldn't resist going to the mall at mellenia since it's my favorite.  In exchange for Hunter shopping with me we went to Medieval Times that night.  I assumed it would be on the cheesier side but it was surprisingly really fun and the food was pretty good (they had a vegetarian option!).  All in all a great little weekend getaway!

WEEKEND SCENES : THIS AND THAT

Some scenes from my weekend :
1. painting special projects with Camilyn Beth  // 2. My greeting card collection in progress and another recent crest design // 3. Dinner and drinks at Social in Sarasota on Saturday night // 4. My new "bye" clutch that really makes me laugh and this long sleeve maxi dress from H&M that I could literally wear everyday // 5. My paint palette after a couple weeks, I love how they look // 5.  My gardenias are blooming! I love wrapping presents with something "live" on them, I snipped some leafs for my friends bridal shower gift (which was on Sunday)

This was definitely a packed weekend, one of the first ones in awhile that I didn't have a shoot or wedding though.  It was fun to visit with friends, do a little shopping, eat good food and drink some craft cocktails and beer.  Plus get a little painting and editing done in between.

It will probably be a little quite around here this week, we are going to visit my grandparents tomorrow in South Carolina for several days.  I always love being at their place and never mind a good road trip.  The scenery is so beautiful where they live, I'll surely be posting on instagram while I'm away.  When I return, I'm gearing for a fun event and working hard to finalize my new stationery collection.  Lots to share soon! Have a great week.
