RECENT WORK : LETTERS ON LETTERS

A few projects from last week.  I did ALOT of lettering! I also added some new items to my shop, like the top "mermaid" print. I'm loving the ombre and thinking I need to stray from my usual black and white more often. 

RECENT WORK : WATERCOLOR LOGO

 This is a recent logo I created for amazing photographer duo, Best Photography.  They just launched a brand new beautiful site! I loved playing with watercolor brush strokes for this project.  

I included a few of the originals (below) just for some "behind the scenes" of my process, if you will.  We started out considering two colors for the strokes, then down to just a blush / coral color.  I ended making a thinner brush stroke due to their websites new layout.  I liked them all but the simplicity of the final one was just perfect for their new branding and site!

RECENT WORK

A few new projects from the past week or so.  The menu is up in my shop and available for customization.  I have added the two art prints as well!  The photo with the leaves were for a styled shoot that I'm so excited to see the results of, I was also involved in another one recently...I'm dying to see and share photos from both.  I've been doing calligraphy for dayz lately and it's great.  I love sitting away from my desk, turning up the music, and drinking my coconut iced chai's while I paint.

RECENT WORK : RED, WHITE, & BLUE INSPIRED

  Inspired by red, white, and blue this week, I decided to create this sample suite for my shop. I love the colored envelopes so much and I finally got to use my vintage American flag stamps!

I'm in the process of creating an entire collection of invitations for my shop.  They will be available "as is" and also for color customizing (and of course the calligraphy is all custom).  I can't wait to share more soon.

DECO INSPIRED CALLIGRAPHY

Some fun new deco inspired save the dates I just finished!  How fun are the hot pink envelopes with glitter liners?  Those liners get me every time. 

BLUSH BLOSSOMS

Just wanted to share this pretty pink suite I've been working on for a bride.  We took the large flower from my "blush blossoms" suite and added our own touch to it.  I love the choice of soft grey font and calligraphy.  The response card was mad lib style which I think is the cutest idea ever.  Envelope liners are my new favorite paper item, they really make the set feel complete and are such a pretty touch.  You can shop this suite and much more in my Etsy shop. 

CALLIGRAPHY IS HERE TO STAY

After much ado and many a request, calligraphy examples are up in my shop. WHOO HOO! 

These are simply examples and calligraphy does not have to be done exactly as shown, I was hoping to use these as inspiration and let you guys run with it!  The prices range from $2.50-$4.00.  I am also offering this service for place cards, escort cards, signs, and any other wonderful wedding paper items you can dream up!  Message me on Etsy or e-mail at shannonkcouch@gmail.com to inquire about invitation services.

RECENT WORK

A couple recent invitations and some thank you cards I made for myself. I wanted to see how my peony painting would look in print so I put these together and I LOVE them.  I can't wait to offer the peonies as a full suite! The last set is for a wedding in Alaska, inspired by the native wildflowers of Juneau.  Incorporating all these florals were special for the bride and groom and I loved creating them.  Check out more new stuff  in the shop and contact me for any custom requests!

GETTING TO KNOW FEATURE

INSTA-WEEKEND

Some tidbits from weekend.  Lots of new painting projects around here lately.  I some how managed to slip in a sushi date with Hunter, re-paint my china cabinet (photo 4) and finish my taxes, WHOO HOO! I'm stoked about all the new things that will be in my shop soon, i.e.  several calligraphy designs for envelopes and place cards (photo 1), working on a peony suite that I'm pretty proud of so far (photo 2),  I added the drink typography signs to my shop this weekend (photo 5), and practicing my watercolor for something a little different (photo 9).  Exciting!

I have been painting like crazy lately!  I'm excited for all the great projects that have come my way recently.  Also, to work on a collection for my shop...I have been wanting to do this for so long and it's finally in the baby stages of coming together!
