IN THE ROSE GARDEN

I just have two things to say about this post.  Ringling's rose garden is quite possibly my favorite place ever.  It never gets old and had such ever changing beauty.  I love seeing the rose's growth in each season.  Second, these jeans are my life.  I've been wearing them since I got them on my birthday.  They are the high rise cigarette jeans from Urban Outfitters, and at just $59 a pop you can't beat them.
That's all.  xo

SWEATER WEATHER

After spending the past week at my grandparents house in South Carolina and waking up to 30-40 degree weather I am alllll in the mood to dress up for the cold.  I arrived back in Florida and much to my delight the mornings have been in the 60's! This is exciting stuff people.  Even though it will warm back up next week I'm going to take full advantage of wearing my boots while it lasts. The above is basically my weekend dream outfit.

Happy Saturday xox

IN THE GARDEN, BY THE SEA

photos by Cami

Top: J.Crew // Skirt: Urban Outfitters // Necklace: Anthropologie // Sunglasses: Urban Outiftters // Flats: Cotton On // Bag: Vintage

Cami and I have been meeting for our weekly coffee chats / street style at Ringling Museum.  The water is so calm, the air cooler, and the early morning just so peaceful.  Plus there is so much to explore there, it's really a local treasure I've taken for granted.  I can't wait to keep finding new beauty around these parts and I'll especially be looking forward to the rose garden being in full bloom sometime soon.

FALL OUTFIT INSPIRATION

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

Fall has arrived and pumpkin spice is in the air! Although in Florida we won't be really feeling the crisp, cool weather for awhile...it still has me dreaming of cool nights wearing sweaters, tights, scarves, and feeling all cozy.  For now, I'll just keep lusting over these great fall outfits and be looking forward to pulling my sweaters and boots out of the closet.

RINGLING MUSEUM

Exploring Ringling last week with Cami.  It is such a treasure that we have a beautiful place like this in the "neighborhood". I don't come here far often enough.  The scenery, gardens, and architecture are just breathtaking.

WEEKEND WEAR : PERFECT BASICS

6. Fotostrap Monogram Camera Strap

I think it's important to invest in really good basics, the ones that serve as your "go to" items.  Each of these items are simple but perfect for so many occasions.  The high waisted skinnies and printed loafers give a chic twist on the ole jeans and a t-shirt.  I'm also really in love with the monogram leather camera strap, it comes in a variety of colors via Fotostrap.

Enjoy the weekend!

ORANGE CRUSH

top: gap / jeans: joe's jeans / wedges & bag: target / sunglasses & bracelets: forever 21 / rings: asos / necklace: vintage

A few photos Cami snapped of my while we were exploring and shooting street style last week.  I guess we were channeling / trying to blend in with the statues at Ringling Museum, ha.  Anyways, I've never been a fan of orange until recently.  It's bold and fresh and the perfect little pop of color.  I got this shirt in every color from Gap (whoops).  It's so comfortable (and on sale now).

Happy Monday! xx

WEEKEND WEAR /// COLOR POP

So I've definitely grown found of the overall / jumpsuit trend.  I really love the simplicity and chicness of these silk grey ones.  I would live in the red Steven heels (currently on sale via shop bop for $97).  That necklace is the perfect quirky color pop to top off this look!

WEEKEND WEAR // PRINTED PANTS

THESE PANTS. They might be the best silhouette and pattern I've ever seen.  I'm loving the crop top trend with a little high waisted something...so good.

SUN DOWN

Cami and I took a little sunset trip to Lido earlier this week to take photos and just relax on the beach.  I can't wait to share the ones of her but for now, here are a few she snapped of me! This evening was so pretty.  My jewelry and belt are vintage.  The skirt is from Target.

SHOP TALK : HEATHER DAVIS OF PAPER PLEASE STUDIO

I had so much fun shooting the first ever lookbook of Paper Please Studio last weekend.  I was beyond thrilled that owner and designer, Heather Davis, agreed to answer some questions about her new and blossoming business.  I am very inspired by Heather's fresh, clean, and modern take on design and thought it would be awesome if we could see some insight on her process and inspiration.

FYI : Heather and I have been friends for SIXTEEN years now.  More of a sisterhood I guess you could say.  I couldn't be more blessed to be part of Heathers life and especially this new adventure she in on with Paper Please.  It is extreming rewarding and inspiring to see my best friends find their joy and passions.  I'm so happy we are all on this creative journey together...it makes the ride that much more exciting and amazing!

Scroll on down to read the interview and see lots of pretty pictures...

Name: Heather Davis

Company: Paper Please Studio

Current City: West Palm Beach, Florida

Tell us a little about what you do and offer on your site?
Paper Please Studio offers wedding, event and personal stationery. My Etsy shop has everything from custom note cards, wedding invitation suites to wedding day items like menus, programs, etc.

When did you first have the idea to start Paper Please, how did it all come about?
The past 8 months have been a whirlwind of designing memorable pieces for unbelievable couples. Last year I started designing a few friends’ wedding invitation suites. After a lot of encouragement from friends in the wedding industry, I decided to open an Etsy shop featuring a few designs. Thankfully, the response was very positive. Brides began contacting me with ideas for custom suites. I love collaborating with them and making their vision come to fruition. I’ve also enjoyed working on brand development projects with a handful of talented women.

Where does your inspiration come from? I gather a lot inspiration from where I live and where I grew up, West Palm Beach and Bradenton, Florida. I’m drawn toward soft, neutral tones and Florida’s seaside charm. My friends in the wedding industry definitely motivate me. Their style and creativity inspire fresh ideas.

What initially led you to the field of design? My background is in marketing and graphic design. I've been designing corporate marketing pieces for the past 8 years. I've always been interested in art and had a creative drive. I started designing paper goods as a creative outlet.

What do you love most about creating beautiful paper goods? I love the emotion stationery conveys. Who doesn’t love to receive an encouraging note or an invitation to an exciting upcoming event? Also, it is so encouraging to know that people trust my ability to create something that is so monumental in their lives. Last week a bride sent me text messages from her guests telling her how much they loved the couple’s invitation and how it perfectly reflected their personality. My heart may have leapt through the roof!

Where is the future of Paper Please headed? I'm looking forward to designing a line of wedding collections. My goal is to have 5 individual, cohesive looks that incorporate every paper element: save the dates, wedding invitations, programs, place cards, menus, stickers, marriage certificates, signs, welcome bag cards, maps, and thank you cards. I am also developing a website to serve as a portfolio.

Favorite things to do when you're not Paper pleasing your life away? I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends. It doesn’t get much better than being surrounded by the people you love. I am grateful for the opportunities that I have been given. I just want to have an open heart and eyes to the beauty around me.

Hop on over to the Paper Please shop to see more
And a big thank you to my dear friend for dropping in on the blog today!
