LATELY : SOME WORKS IN PROGRESS

Hello! I have been slow to catch up on the blog this month but I have some sort of okay excuses:

Client work has been at it's busiest as I work with brides for spring weddings. I've got some stylish, design loving gals right now and I couldn't be more excited about making their wedding stationery visions come to life. Plus a few other interesting client projects I'll be sharing soon.

I am also finalizing the last bit of designs I will be showing at NSS in May.  I am so excited to get everything I've been working on to the printer and see the final products.  The above photos are some greeting cards in progress. Then the fun part of shooting a wholesale catalog is one of the biggest things I have left to do.  This will be fun for me to style, play with flowers, and shoot myself. Can't wait to share some sneaks when that gets underway next month.

AND I decided to move my business out the house (finally!) and into my first official studio space. The last photo is from painting the walls in the new space this past weekend and a little sliver of my view of our downtown area.  I seriously can't believe this is happening.  We have some more work to do before I can officially move in (ya know, since I wanted everything to be all white. lol).  So many mixed emotions about this next step.  Growing is scary but I am so thankful it's happening.

You guys are wonderful, all the nice words on social media about my Hallmark collab was overwhelming.  Big thanks and XO's.

LATELY : IN THE STUDIO + WINTER PARK

What a busy, amazing month December is turning out to be.  I have been hustling to finish client orders, promptly ship holiday items, and get the studio organized for a new exciting year.
A few snaps of life lately...

Celebrated my birthday with a couple nights at Park Plaza, the cutest little hotel in Winter Park.  Complete with shopping with my mom.  She snuck my floral heart print and had it printed on my birthday cake. So cute.
A few new greetings in progress.

Hope you are enjoying the holiday season.

POP UP SHOP WITH WEST ELM

It was such a treat to spend this past weekend in Orlando mixing in a little work with play!  West Elm hosted a pop up shop with me and several other local makers.  It's been a great experience being a part of West Elm Local.  I was asked to join at the beginning of 2015 and am so far in the stores in Orlando, Estero, and both Miami locations!  It was fun to finally meet some other creatives at this event.  I love that West Elm is encouraging and promoting us independents.

The first photo is the WE Local display that is always up in the store, it features the products that WE offers from all their local artists plus a short bio about us.  This weekend everyone brought additional products and we set up using tables and pretty props from the store.

All the prints and cards shown in the photos are now available on my etsy

HELLO MAY

HI.
I'm still here.

Stopping by to say hello and share this illustration, a sneak peek of the current card collection I'm so desperately trying to finish up! I can' wait to share all the things I've been working on.  I'm really looking forward to expanding my stationery collection and branching out into more wholesaling. So that's basically where I've been hiding, along with wrapping up client projects, and an exciting collaboration.

May is here and it sort of marks (for me) slowing down for a month or so.  I don't shoot as much over the summer (for obvious reasons since I'm in Florida) so I am excited to hopefully find some free time to finish up the card collection and bring some fun projects to this little blog.

Hope your Monday is trucking along. XO

WEEKEND NOTES

Some favorite things that started coming together this past week / weekend.
Excited to introduce some new simple calligraphy prints to the shop this week. I ordered some samples of recent client projects to shoot, lots of pretty greenery lately.  Spring has definitely arrived and influenced my mood, as I've been using these soft muted colors a lot and painting dainty florals.

We had a weekend filled with family and good food, our nephew and my sister both had birthdays that were celebrated. We ate dinner at our favorite restaurants, did a bit of shopping, and somehow I managed to still paint in between.

SKETCHBOOK 03 : FLORAL PATTERNS

I got a little into this one and didn't take as many photos as intended, but still fun to see a sketch start from nothing to a bright, whimsical pattern.  This was a hit on instagram when I posted it this week so I will surely get it up in the shop soon.

This was all painted with my favorite gouache paints.  I don't use a particular paint brush, I just like shorter, slim tips.  Really there is no rhyme or reason to choosing a brush for me, I experiment with lots of different kinds and just lean towards tiny ones to get good details.
