HAPPY LONG WEEKEND

Thank goodness for Friday. I hope you all enjoy this long weekend, I know I'm looking forward to relaxing and maybe working on some fun personal projects.  I've been paining so many new things lately, things that just inspire me and that I've been wanting to try.  I plan to start adding some to the shop soon, like this cacti and some of the other florals I've posted on instagram. I found some vintage botanical books at an estate sale last week and have been using them for inspiration!

Happy Labor day weekend!

SHANNON KIRSTEN X BUDDY EDITIONS

If you've yet to visit Buddy Editions, well it's time.  Buddy Editions consists of work by emerging artists all around the globe.  It has been carefully curated by the talented Katie Armour (of Neo-Traditionaist blog and co-creator of Matchbook Magazine).  Each artist has a collection of limited edition prints.  There are only 100 of each size (8"x10", 11" x 14", and 16" x 20") and only 10 large scale prints of each design!  They are exclusive to the Buddy Editions site... (So my three pieces above will only be sold there and only 100 of each size) aka get 'em while their hot!

Since being approached to be a part of this I've been beyond excited (and had to keep it under wraps for a few months).  We took inspiration from Mexican and southwestern influences to create my pieces, more specifically the festivities and colors of a dia de los muertos celebration.  I'm so thrilled with the outcome.  To be grouped with this talented bunch of artists is just amazing.  There is a bio / questionnaire where you can read some fun facts about each artist.  Buddy editions instagram is also quite inspiring.  Enjoy! xx

INTERIOR LOVE // COLOR INSPIRATION

I'm loving this soft, muted color palette with a hint of southwestern touches.  I always come back to a little pop of pink.  In a day of gallery walls, the hanging baskets are so fresh.  Definitely gives me ideas to combine new elements amongst my frames.
