LATELY

A few snaps from the past week or so via my iphone / instagram (follow along @shannonkirsten)

Lots of coffees, spring-y things, and trying to get some cooking in when I have the time.  We started an herb garden recently and I just love going outside to clip them before I start cooking dinner.  I've also been trying to make the perfect iced coffee at home (i.e. rather than starbucks every day).  I haven't quite got it right but I will surely share the recipe when I'm pleased with it! Be back with some fun new projects soon. xo

Last night my mom made salmon cakes, cheese grits, caprese salad, and grilled vegetables...it was quite a delicious feast accompanied by wine and storytelling.  We did nothing but hang out with both of our families this weekend and it was just great!

IN BLOOM

Gosh I love flowers.

I never thought I was a fan of tulips until I picked these up at Fresh Market yesterday.  I love the way they droop over the vase and how vibrant their color is.  How else do you celebrate the first day of spring other than treating yourself to some delicious flowers?!  I am usually not a huge fan of contrast-y photos but I think these look pretty cool against my black wall.
