HAPPY VALENTINES WEEKEND

Wishing you all a great weekend and a happy Valentine's day! 

I know a lot people think Valentines is silly, Hunter and I won't really be participating because we have friends coming into town and it's his dads birthday.  We go on lots of dates normally so I think I'll be ok missing the long waits at restaurants :)  We also have our local seafood festival which always proves to be a good time with delicious food! I am definitely excited to get through this workday.

AROUND THE STUDIO

As predicted, January has flown by already (insert sad face).  I cannot believe how busy and great the past month has been, I'm so thankful.  I have been working nonstop but I guess this what I signed up for!  I have a ton of flowers sitting around from a valentines shoot this week so it has been fun to use them for styling.  Unfortunately, I've only had time to snap these few pictures on my ipad but I wanted to share a couple new things: 

I finally lettered my favorite Robert Frost quote, those will be up in the shop soon / Calligraphy for weddings like crazy lately...loved this choice of greens / The Je t'aime looked so cute printed I decided to make it an 8 x 10 for my shop (it will stay up for always, not just Valentines)

VALENTINE

A few valentine projects in progress.  I have a couple love day inspired shoots coming up that I'm really looking forward to.  For now, I've listed this "je t'aime" design as a single A-2 card in my shop!

OH, IT IS LOVE

How blessed are we as photographers to experience love week in and week out with our beautiful clients.  Being a photographer and sharing these moments with people has truly taught me so much about love and relationships.  And also that everyday is a reason to celebrate and show people you love how much you care about them.

I'm also quite thankful to have someone who treats me special everyday.  There is not one doubt in my mind that he wants to make me happy always.  That is the best gift of all.  I love you Hunter, to the moon and back again 1,000 times :) 

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and celebrates love in its many forms.

SIMPLE VALENTINES DIY

Last minute, I decided I needed a couple of treats for family and friends in honor of Valentine's day... So here are a two cute and quick things I threw together...

 These arrows will make cute gift toppers or even cut them in half and stick them into a cake or cupcakes.  You just need colored paper, feathers, gold wire, small wooden dowels, scissors, and double sided tape.  I wrapped the feathers on one end with the wire, cut out hearts like they teach you in elementary school (folding paper in half and cutting your heart), then used double sided tape to stick two hearts together on the other end of the stick.  I mean, they're just cute.

Just a few sweet treats and some baking inspiration for Valentines day tomorrow. And because these pictures are just plain pretty. 

Some believe the way to a mans heart is...well...through food. 

That is fairly accurate for my man...
