WEEKEND NOTES : BEACH DAYS

Spring has turned out to be quite lovely so far here in Florida.  We enjoyed a beautiful weekend mostly outside with good friends, cocktails, and our local seafood festival.

WEEKEND SCENES : WINTER IN FLORIDA

 As an adventure seeker, I admit that due to my constant daydreaming and wanderlust I often forget that I live in a vacation / paradise type of town...  One thing Hunter and I decided we would do more often this year is explore our town and the surrounding areas in Florida that we typically overlook (ya know, while planning for bigger, further away destinations).  I forgot how fun it can be to play tourist in your own town, bringing my camera along for no reason and taking it all in like a visitor.  If I'm being honest, the last maybe 10 times I was at the beach was for work (aka photoshoots).  Never simply to enjoy it just because.  Having friends in town helps with this too, some of the photos are from when my girlfriends visited last weekend.  The top priority was "make-your-own donuts" (Anna Maria Donuts) and a good view for cocktails after that.  The other photos were from the prior weekend when Hunter and I just randomly decided to spend our Saturday seaside.  We had lunch at the Tiki Hut, a favorite little joint for an indulgent seafood-filled lunch.  Grapefruit cocktails for me and the spiciest bloody mary possible for him.  Cheers to being inspired by what we have and observing the beauty that's around us.  Hope everyone had a beautiful weekend! xox

WEEKEND SCENES

Another beautiful gulf coast sunset… except this weekend, temperatures are finally starting to drop a bit!  It was surprisingly cool and breezy every night this weekend.  Although still warm (80's) during the day, the humidity has definitely lessened.  Finally starting to see the first signs of fall here in Florida.

FROM THE SEA TO THE CITY

Just a few snapshots from recent beach shoots over the past couple weeks.  It's been HOT lately, but at least our little island provides the most beautiful scenery to make a day outside worth it.  I'm leaving mermaid life behind this week and heading to NYC! It's been way too long since I've visited the city and I'm dying with excitement.  New York is so inspiring and some of my favorite people live there.  I can't wait to come back with a ton of photos and fresh ideas.  I'm kicking off the weekend with my mom's birthday today, Hunter's sisters wedding tomorrow, then I leave bright and early Sunday morning and it will be non stop through next week.  Also gearing up for some fun projects and shoots in July that I can't wait to share.

A FOGGY DAY AT THE BEACH

While I play catch after a long weekend away, I thought I would share a few of these pretty photos.  The beach last weekend was the foggiest I've ever seen it.  It was so peaceful.  The usually bright colors turned to muted tones was quite beautiful.
