ICELAND PT. 2 / ON THE ROAD : SKOGAFOSS

After our first night in Reykjavik we set out to drive the ring road.  We went counterclockwise (mainly due to some of the tours we wanted to do only being available on certain days since we planned last minute).  Not too long into our drive we found Skogafoss, literally right off the ring road.  What a beautiful stop off this was.  People had set up tents to camp beneath the majestic falls, stairs straight up a hill make for quite a hike to view the waterfall from the top, the lush green hills made for the most gorgeous scenes.  Skogafoss is located on the Skoga River in the south of Iceland.  It is one of the country's largest waterfalls ranging about 25 meters / 82 feet wide with a 60 meter / 200 foot drop.  This is a definite stop if you are making your way around the ring road.  This was my favorite waterfall we visited, just so beautiful.

More on Iceland soon. XO

  1. Some really great photos there!

But that's the thing about Iceland, every square inch of the place (Sure, even the toilets) are just so photogenic. It's like the earth thought "Hey, let's make something cool. I don't want to take up too much space though." and Iceland came to be. Love that place, wish I lived there. Great to see you had a good time.
